Because history affords us the opportunity of reflection, today its hard to see the forest from the trees.
Who today is forging a new path ?
Was NEUTRAL MILK HOTELS  1998’s “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea” the last important record made? I think it was the best record of the nineties. Has enough time passed where we can make an argument that RADIOHEAD’S "Ok Computer” is that important of a record?  Has it all been said and done ? With the record industry pumping out throwaway garbage and showing no real interest in developing artists,  todays dismal radio programing along with consumers sense of entitlement to free illegal downloading of music where will the next great milestone record come from?  Once recorded will it simply be still born ?  There are excellent records being made today, no doubt but will we give them a chance to grow? Bands like The Shivers NYC, Daydream Machine, Big Blood and Vaadat Charigim are releasing incredible music and you should seek them out.
Here are a few of the game changers, Who did I leave out and why ?
